MOUSE KEYBOARD
Your cursor, where your work is.
DeskChord uses the edge of the desk, not a cloud address, to hand off input. You choose the layout, compare the SAS code and release the route when the work ends.
Direct private LAN path. Every capability starts denied.

01 / CHAPTER
Map the physical desk first.
Native monitor facts and logical device rectangles are separate records. One authenticated owner publishes a complete monotonic revision, and peers converge on it deterministically.
- Match order, rotation, DPI and physical relationships.
- Enable only the edge zones you intend to cross.
- Ambiguous geometry blocks handoff instead of choosing a surprising path.

02 / CHAPTER
Pair identity before authority.
Confirm the same short SAS code on both screens. The session then uses pinned mutual TLS over the direct LAN; pairing itself does not grant input, clipboard, files or anything else.
- Keep both devices on a trusted private LAN.
- Peer credentials and revocation survive restarts.
- Foreign-owner advertisements are rejected.

03 / CHAPTER
A 30-second lease keeps control exclusive.
The receiver issues an input lease to one controller. Renewal is explicit; timeout, network loss, identity mismatch or revoke releases remote pressed state and returns control locally.
- Keyboard permission is included in input, but clipboard remains separate.
- Android text still depends on the user selecting DeskChord IME.
- Lock screen, UAC and secure desktop remain outside the Windows current-user session.

04 / CHAPTER
Recovery is a visible local action.
If Android closes, Wi-Fi roams or an operator revokes input, DeskChord ends the old generation. Reconnecting creates a new authenticated decision instead of silently restoring a lease.
- Use Release when you want the local device back immediately.
- Test with non-sensitive text, never a password.
- A secure Android app can refuse gestures or remote text by design.

FAQ
Clear answers before you install.
Does cursor handoff follow monitor coordinates or IP addresses?
It follows the owner-authored topology: monitor identity, geometry, DPI, rotation and physical relationships. Network addresses only carry the authenticated LAN session.
How long can one controller hold the input route?
The receiver-issued lease lasts 30 seconds at a time and must be renewed. Expiry or revoke releases remote buttons and keys rather than leaving them pressed.
Can I revoke keyboard but keep the pairing?
Yes. Input is an independent grant. You can revoke it while preserving the peer identity and decide separately about stylus, view, clipboard, files, terminal and Remote Devices.
Why does Android sometimes refuse text?
The DeskChord IME must be enabled and selected by the user. Secure applications and platform policies may still refuse remote text; DeskChord does not bypass that boundary.
